Exchanging ideas on communication, public speaking, presentations and slide design

About me…

I have sat through too many dire presentations, looked at (or slept through) too many badly designed PowerPoint slides and read too many dull Word documents.

We should put more effort into the appearance of our communication media, using great fonts, lots of white space and good quality visuals. This site is for the exchange of ideas about presentation design and delivery.

I am a senior physician and speak at conferences nationally and internationally. By making every mistake in the book I have managed to improve my techniques! Slowly but surely I am improving. I have read the books, watched my peers in action and consciously upped my game. My overall aim is to be a good presenter. In particular I want to make good use of slideware and design great PowerPoint and Keynote presentations. It all takes time and eliminating bad habits takes a while. But it’s worth it in the end. I think if you take care over your whole persona, slides, handouts and delivery your presentations will have far greater impact and your message will be crystal clear.

I have written 2 books just published Giving Great Presentations in Easy Steps and Public Speaking In Easy Steps. I have also written books about iPhone, iPad and Mac OSX.  If you would like help with your presentation techniques please contact me. I am happy to teach small groups. I may not be Tony Robbins or Ken Robinson but I am honest and can show you how to avoid the pitfalls many of us make. I also do motivational speeches, mainly around digital technologies and communication.
