Nancy Duarte’s new book is out!

October 5th, 2010 · No Comments · Communication, Designer worth noting, Nancy Duarte

Nancy Duarte, Queen of Presentation, has a new book called Resonate (available on Amazon). From the description it sounds pretty amazing. I have her other book slide:ology, and that was very impressive. This one is anticipated to be even better. There are so many books on slide design and presentation skills but her’s are right […]

I saw a great presentation posted on Garr Reynolds’ site today. It involves dots and “dot zen”. Even if you don’t appreciate the presentation itself, the author very nicely shows you how to create animations using Keynote. The whole process is very easy, but is only available in iWork 09.

How much time does it take to design good slides?

April 20th, 2009 · No Comments · Bad design, Communication, Designer worth noting, Public Speaking

Reading through books like Nancy Duarte’s and others makes me realize how unexciting my slides actually are. Her examples are inspiring and incredibly elegant, yet very much to-the-point. But for most of us, the time this takes is simply not available. If you are a busy professional rushing from meeting to meeting, juggling several projects, […]
